Clearing Out My Head.

On Monday the first part of my sabbatical ended.  So one of the first things I did after catching up on my email was look over my calendar.  (While I was gone, I never once looked at my work email!)

What I realized pretty quickly is that we have a lot of stuff coming up pretty quickly as we head into summer.  So I thought I’d take some time today to list both a bunch of events that we have coming up and to share a few other things we are working on.  Here goes:

Communion this Sunday: We are celebrating the Lord’s Supper together this Sunday.  While that is nothing new, we are trying it a different way than we have done it before.  Part of our goal in trying a new way is so that we can begin to celebrate communion on a more frequent basis.  We’ll go over the details on Sunday.

Leadership Seminar next Saturday: I wrote earlier this week that Liz and I have started setting aside Saturdays as a Sabbath.  I also mentioned that we had a few Saturdays already scheduled.  This is one of them! On Saturday, May 22, John Elmer from the Syracuse Vineyard & I will be teaching a day long seminar on the topic of leadership.  The seminar will begin at 9am and end at 3:30pm.  You can sign up on your connection card this Sunday…or by posting a note in the comment section.

Discovering Membership – Vineyard 101::next Sunday: If you are not yet a member @ the Vineyard, and you’ve been attending regularly for at least 2 months, we’d love for you to join us.   You can sign up on your connection card this Sunday…or online.   More information on Membership is available here.

Emotionally Healthy Spirituality: With the current message series we are going through, we thought that even though our kinships are off for the month, some people might be interested in meeting weekly during the month of June to talk more about the issues raised in the book & on Sundays.   We’ll have more info soon, but we’d love to hear if you are interested.

Vineyard Leadership Institute (VLI): Our three current VLI students (John & Kathy Murray, & Butch Westlake) will be graduating from VLI in a few weeks.  Please make sure to congratulate them.  They have each put in an amazing amount of work to complete this program over the past 21 months!

If you are interested in getting involved in the next round of VLI, I’d love to hear from you.  Perhaps you can talk to one of our soon to be grads & get their perspective.

Like I mentioned, I’m still trying to get back in the swing of things after being away for a bit…so, it’s likely I missed something (or a bunch of things).  Feel free to let me know!
